AAS Graphic Design
The Ability to Design Your Future
Our Associate of Applied Science Degree in Graphic Design program prepares students for an exciting career in advertising, marketing or publishing as a professional graphic designer. The program focuses on creative thinking and conceptual problem-solving to communicate messages that inform, persuade and sell. Graphic design courses are taught by professional graphic designers and features real-world projects that provide practical instruction to students.
Courses explore the “secrets” of good graphic design, including the synthesis of type, image, color and layout. Students will assemble a portfolio of effective communications pieces during the program, including Web sites, identity and logo packages, annual reports, packaging design and marketing/advertising collateral. This portfolio will prove invaluable as students market themselves to potential employers or “pitch” clients as a freelance designer.
