AAS Human Resources Specialist
Teaching You the Personal Side of Business
This Associate of Applied Science Degree program prepares the student for an entry-level position in the field of human resources including staff recruitment, compensation & benefits, payroll, evaluation and training. The Human Resources Specialist program features the same, strong educational components that underpin the College’s other business programs. As part of the HR Specialist program, students will focus on local, state and federal employment laws/regulations and learn employment ethical practices.
Upon completion of the program, graduates will have developed a solid foundation of business skills including administration techniques, critical thinking, decision making, communication and information technology skills. Students can choose to specialize in compensation & benefits, payroll, or become an HR generalist. Skills are taught and fostered through classroom-based learning as well as a Capstone Internship to provide practical, real-world experience before graduation.
