The ability to adequately provide care to patients is a primary requirement for anyone searching for a human and social services career. Gaining an understanding of the ever changing needs of patients and clients has become a focal point for a degree in human and social services. WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

Graduates of the Human and Social Services associate’s degree will be prepared to begin a career in a number of different roles within the field. Some of the positions students will be prepared to fill include crisis intervention, case management, social and human service assistant and many others. Points of emphasis of the degree cover subjects such as the diversity of influences that affect clients while also ensuring that the proper ethical responsibilities are followed in providing treatment. Students take courses that draw on expertise required in psychology careers along with common practices in the counseling field.

Additional focus is placed on the process of case management while also providing education on the management principles within the human and social service setting. The degree is designed to provide the competencies to assess the concerns of a client and to provide the necessary support for each individual case.
