Founded in 1854, Bryant & Stratton College has built its reputation and success on a commitment to excellence and high standards. Bryant & Stratton College is an accredited institution and member of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE).

Bryant & Stratton College’s accreditation status is Accreditation Reaffirmed. The Commission’s most recent action on the institution’s accreditation status on June 22, 2017 was to reaffirm accreditation. MSCHE is an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

Bryant & Stratton College is approved for the training of veterans and other eligible persons and for administering educational programs sponsored by state and federal agencies such as the Bureau of Indian Affairs and state rehabilitation services. The institution is authorized under federal law to enroll non-immigrant alien students.

The Albany, Amherst, Buffalo, Syracuse and Southtowns campuses are authorized by the New York State Board of Regents to confer the Bachelor of Business Administration degree. The Southtowns, Albany, Greece, and Syracuse North campuses are authorized by the New York State Board of Regents to confer the Bachelor of Science degree.

For consideration into this program, a candidate must:

  2. Provide an official U.S. high school transcript indicating successful completion, or high school equivalency issued by a recognized State Education department (i.e. GED); or. Completion of a secondary school education in a home school setting meeting the requirements of the State in which the homeschooling was provided; or. an academic transcript showing that the student has successfully completed at least a two-year program that is acceptable for full credit toward a bachelor’s degree.
  3. Complete a visit with an Admissions Representative. Each prospective student will be interviewed by an admissions associate. The purpose of the visit is to assess the educational and career goals of the prospective student and determine if Bryant & Stratton College is a good match. During the visit an admissions associate will provide information regarding the College’s educational mission, a content overview of the degree, admission criteria, application, tuition costs, and will refer students to a financial services advisor who can discuss financial aid options.
  4. Complete a Nursing Program Director Interview. If required, Nursing Program candidate may be interviewed by the Nursing Program Director or his or her designee.
  5. Provide documentation of a recent physical exam and other required laboratory test results as described in the admissions interview and in the Nursing Handbook.
  6. Submit to a criminal background check and drug screening as required by state and federal law and clinical facility and Bryant & Stratton College requirements (prior to first clinical).
  7. Achieve a minimum of proficiency level on the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS). LPN graduates who have passed the NCLEX and have a valid PN license are exempt from taking the TEAS for entrance into the BSN Generalist program within the first two years of graduation.

      Occupational Therapy Assistant Program

      The Hybrid Occupational Therapy Assistant Program (with lab locations in Greece, NY, Solon, OH, Virginia Beach, VA, and Wauwatosa, WI) and the in-person Syracuse, NY program, are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) located at 7501 Wisconsin Avenue, Suite 510E, Bethesda, MD 20814. ACOTE’s telephone number is 301-652-AOTA, and its Web address is www.acoteonline.org. Graduates of the hybrid and face-to-face Syracuse programs will be eligible to sit for the national certification examination for the occupational therapy assistant administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). After successful completion of this exam, the individual will be a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). In addition to passing the NBCOT exam, all states require licensure or authorization in order to practice.

      Note that a felony conviction may affect a graduate’s ability to sit for the NBCOT certification examination or attain state licensure or authorization.

      The Bryant & Stratton in-person occupational therapy assistant programs at the Greece, NY, and the Solon, OH, campuses have been granted a status of Accreditation-Inactive by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). This status indicates that the program is not currently enrolling new students and does not plan to enroll new students in the future.
