RICHMOND, Va., May 29, 2013 – Dr. Oscar L. Martin Jr., research and development manager for DuPont’s Richmond operations and founder of a cutting-edge online technology education website, will keynote Bryant & Stratton College’s graduation ceremonies June 14 at 7 p.m. at the Richmond Convention Center.
Dr. Martin is expected to encourage the College’s approximately 300 graduates through his own experience as a minority who has earned business success while pursuing a Ph.D. degree in chemical engineering, which he was awarded in 2009.
At DuPont, Dr. Martin leads a team of ten scientists and engineers that devises creative new ways to apply DuPont’s products for businesses worldwide. At the same time, encouraged by an upbringing in a “family of teachers,” Martin founded TechnologyEd.com in 2009.
TechnologyEd.com offers more than 300 online courses and webinars on a wide variety of science and technology topics. It now serves more than 1,500 professionals seeking to advance their careers through studies of technology and engineering.
“In many ways Dr. Oscar Martin personifies the attributes for success that we work hard to instill in our students,” said Bryant & Stratton College’s Director of Virginia Colleges Beth Murphy. “He carries forth a very strong motivation to help others who would follow, through his own example and engaging approach to life. We are fortunate to have him help send off our latest graduates.”
