Home / News / Bobcats Capture Region III Title November 4, 2013 Bobcats Capture Region III Title By B&SC News Team The Bobcats defeated Monroe Community College Tribunes 4-2 in the Region III District Championship game on Saturday. The Bobcats scored early when Sean Latimer (England) scored on breakaway with a world class cheeky flip over the goalies head. The Tribunes struck back with two goals early in the second half to put the Bobcats on their heels. With 20 minutes remaining in the game Coach Dimitrievski made an unusual change and added a third forward to their attack. The change was pivotal as it put the Tribunes on their heels resulting in three goals in a span of 10 minutes. The Bobcats never looked back and captured the NJCAA Region III Championship. Coach Dimitrievski said, “I congratulate our players. They have put on some outstanding performances that include an undefeated record of 11-0, Region III Champions, and the Western New York Athletic Conference Champions. We are back to our tradition of excellence this season.” The Bobcats advance to the Northeast District Tournament featuring the top 4 teams in the Northeast. The tournament will be played on the campus of Onondaga Community College. The Winner and Runner-up from the tournament will advance to the National Championships in Tyler, Texas, November 18-23, 2013. Northeast District Championship Tournament 10/9 – Bryant & Stratton (11-0) vs. Burlington County College (14-1-2) 10am at OCC 10/9 – Massasoit Community College (11-5-2) vs. ASA College (14-1-2) 1pm at OCC 10/10 – Winners of both games play for the Northeast District Championship Game 11am at OCC Come support us on our goal for a National Championship.
