Kick Start Your Career by Studying Business

If you are wondering 'why study business'? it's probably because you aren’t sure which career is right for you. A business degree is perfect because it covers a wide variety of job opportunities. Landing a job is much easier if you have a grounding in business. To get started, begin by researching degree opportunities in business, business management, and business administration. In today’s competitive job market, it’s virtually impossible to begin a business career without an associate or bachelor’s degree. Even if you have the work experience, and hope to advance in the company you work for, there is a good chance you won’t be considered without an educational foundation in business and/or management.

At Bryant & Stratton College, we offer an array of business-oriented degrees in order to prepare our students for the business careers of their choice. Each of our programs provides relevant theoretical and conceptual information concerning all aspects of business, from accounting and bookkeeping, to sales and management. You will also be trained in the most up-to-date technological software, and will have the opportunity to participate in practicums and/or internships to obtain real-world job skills.

How to Get Started in Business - Five Steps

  1. Apply to College. Online colleges have made it easier than ever to obtain a degree. Your online classes can be organized flexibly, and according to your own schedule, which makes it easy to complete your degree from home, at any time of the day or night. Best of all, online college applications can be completed quickly and easily, without the cumbersome paperwork required by most traditional college campuses.
  2. Get your Associate degree. Participating in an associate in applied science (AAS) degree has two-purposes: it provides a general educational foundation that will help you to transfer into a bachelor’s program, and it allows to you to specialize in a specific academic and/or professional interest. If you are interested in business careers, you will want to consider an AAS in Business  so you can be exposed to accounting, business, and management fundamentals, and will have a better idea of the career path(s) you want to pursue.
  3. Begin Researching Careers. Perhaps you are already working in your area of interest, in which case you are lucky. If not, begin speaking with professionals you admire, or consider what you enjoy doing and how that can be translated into a business career. Business professionals are some of the most successful and highly paid members of society. With the right education, you will be on your way to a satisfying job and a salary you never thought was possible.
  4. Consider Getting a Bachelor’s Degree. As long as you are in the rhythm of taking online college courses, why not continue your education and get your bachelor’s degree in business administration? Many of the highest paid, and most esteemed, business careers require a bachelor’s degree before an applicant will be considered. Your bachelor’s program will build upon the education you received at the associate’s level, providing a more in-depth, integrated learning experience and honing the business skills that interest you most.
  5. Take Advantage of Career Placement & Advisement. Bryant & Stratton College has an exceptional Career Services department, which will help you perfect the art of job hunting. From resume writing and portfolio building workshops, to personalized career advisement and job placement, we make sure our students are prepared to conquer the business world by storm.
