Home / Athletics / Bobcats Alum Shane Davis Signs with Baltimore Orioles July 9, 2020 Bobcats Alum Shane Davis Signs with Baltimore Orioles By B&SC News Team Bryant & Stratton College Bobcats alumni Shane Davis signed his first professional contract with the Baltimore Orioles this week. Davis spent the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons with the Bryant & Stratton College baseball program in Virginia Beach where he developed into a strong pitching prospect. After his two seasons with the Bobcats, he transferred to North Carolina Central University where he spent the 2019-20 season. Davis earned First Team All-Region honors as a freshman with the Bobcats and made a total of 29 appearances in Bryant & Stratton blue before transferring to NCCU to complete his collegiate career. Over the course of 135 innings with the Bobcats, Davis struck out 191 batters and posted a 3.93 ERA. Davis holds the Bobcats records for strikeouts, wins and innings pitched. He was named a two-time All Conference player and was the team MVP for the 2019 season. He also took the mound and earned the first postseason win in program history. “I am so excited for Shane Davis,” said head coach Paul Bottigiero. “Shane has worked extremely hard and dedicated himself to becoming a professional baseball player. I look forward to seeing all the great things from him, he will great for the Baltimore Orioles organization.” Davis is the first Bobcat athlete to ink a Major League contract, forging his path to professional baseball with the Bryant & Stratton College athletics program in Virginia Beach.
