By B&SC News Team
Hout Koemhong, a 22-year-old Cambodian footballer, has overcome significant challenges to become a prominent figure in both education and football. Raised in an orphanage in Battambang, Cambodia, her life transformed when she joined SALT Academy’s Mighty Girls team, where she developed her football skills and leadership abilities. Despite familial opposition, Koemhong’s passion for the sport flourished, leading her to captain Cambodia’s women’s national team, where she made history by scoring six goals in the country’s first international women’s match. Now studying network technology in the U.S. at Bryant & Stratton College, she is determined to elevate women’s football in Cambodia and inspire young girls to follow their dreams.
