Syracuse University Standout to lead New Bobcats Basketball Program in Buffalo

Bryant & Stratton College has tabbed Buffalo native and Syracuse University standout Damone Brown to lead the new basketball program at the Buffalo campus. The new Bobcats basketball program will begin play in the fall of 2018 in Division I of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA).
Brown, played for the Orange from 1997-2001 before being drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers in the second round of the 2001 NBA Draft. In addition to his time with the 76ers, his career included stints with the Toronto Raptors, New Jersey Nets and Washington Wizards with time spent in the NBA G-League and European clubs.
Brown will lead the Bobcats in their return to the USCAA. Formed in 1966 as the National Little College Athletic Association (NLCAA), the association would eventually adopt the new name in 2001. Bryant & Stratton competed in the NLCAA during the 70s, winning the 1974 NLCAA National Championship under head coach Tom Griffin, brother of Jimmy Griffin, former mayor of Buffalo.
