Become an Effective Online Instructor

Experienced trainers looking to enter the field of online teaching can now sign up for a new certificate in online teaching strategies at Bryant & Stratton College. The program is also ideal for those who wish to blend web-based instruction into their face-to-face classes.

“This is a great way for instructors to make themselves more marketable,” said Campus Director for Online Education, Scott Traylor.

The Online Teaching Strategies certificate exposes students to the skills and practices used by successful online instructors. The technology and theories taught are adaptable across numerous learning management systems and through various levels of education.

During the eight week course, students will learn how to design their curriculum for online instruction, how to facilitate discussions, and develop cognitive, social, and teaching presences. There will be a special emphasis on new learning technologies that can be used in the classroom, such as social media, Web 2.0, video capturing and editing, and audio tools.

Master’s degree graduates who complete this certificate program and meet certain criteria may become eligible as a candidate for online teaching at Bryant & Stratton College.
