Bryant & Stratton College Recognized for Best Practices in Military and Veteran Education

GETZVILLE, NY (November 14, 2016) – Bryant & Stratton College received recognition this week for their approach to military and veteran education from two prestigious groups. For the eighth consecutive year, Bryant & Stratton College has been designated a 2017 Military Friendly® School by Victory Media the leader in successfully connecting the military and civilian worlds, and publisher of G.I. Jobs®, STEM JobsSM and Military Spouse. The college was also named a top college in the Military Advanced Education 2017 Guide to Colleges & Universities which uses criteria based on recommendations from the VA and military services to provide information for prospective students to use in framing their educational needs.

“We are proud to offer our servicemen and women an adaptive, career-focused education through our online and campus-based programs,” said Lee E. Hicklin, Bryant & Stratton College’s Director of Business Development and Military Education. “Our military students have the added benefit of working with our experienced Veterans Administration Certifying Officials who can lend first-hand support and advice. Many of these staff members are veterans themselves.”

Bryant & Stratton College provides military service members and their families a flexible, affordable choice for their college education. A streamlined, nurturing academic environment provides the foundation for career success upon graduation. Degree programs are available both online and at 18 campus locations across four states.

The curriculum at Bryant & Stratton College adheres to the eight Keys to Veteran Success, steps outlined by the U.S. Department of Education that postsecondary institutions can take to assist Veterans and service members in transitioning to higher education, completing their college programs, and obtaining career-ready skills.

Students also benefit from Career LifePrep™, a unique set of experiences offered exclusively by Bryant & Stratton College that helps prepare students at every step in their academic journey, both while in school and after graduation. 2017 Military Friendly® School – Victory Media

The Military Friendly® Schools designation is awarded to the top colleges, universities, community colleges and trade schools in the country that are doing the most to embrace military students, and that dedicate resources to ensure their success both in the classroom and after graduation. As a Military Friendly® School, Bryant & Stratton College truly aligns their military programs and services with employers to help students translate military experience, skills and training into successful careers after graduation.

“Our ability to apply a clear, consistent standard across thousands of employers and schools gives veterans a comprehensive view of those striving to provide the best opportunities and conditions for our nation’s veterans,” said Daniel Nichols, Chief Product Officer of Victory Media and head of Military Friendly® development. “Relating data from companies and colleges positions us to further our goal of supporting service members and veterans along their entire path from military service to success in their chosen civilian career field.”

The methodology used for making the Military Friendly® Schools list has changed the student veteran landscape to one that is much more transparent, and has played a significant role over the past eight years in capturing and advancing best practices to support military students across the country. Bryant & Stratton College will be showcased along with other 2017 Military Friendly® Schools in the annual Guide to Military Friendly® Schools, special education issues of G.I. Jobs® and Military Spouse Magazine, and on

Military Advanced Education 2017 Top Colleges & Universities

Military Advanced Education & Transition’s 2017 Guide to Colleges and Universities evaluates institutions on their best practices in military/veteran education. The tenth annual guide uses input from an advisory board of educational and government experts to evaluate and highlight schools that go out of their way to give back to men and women in uniform.

“We want to be a dynamic resource for those looking to further their educations and careers,” said Kelly Fodel, Military Advanced Education & Transition’s editor-in-chief. “A key part of that is finding the right school, and it can be a confusing process for military members to navigate.”
