The Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting degree program prepares graduates to begin a variety of accounting careers. Throughout this program, students will gain the knowledge, skills, and capabilities necessary to create and evaluate financial statements and their impact on the business environment. By the end of this program, students will be able to apply the generally accepted accounting principles to financial reporting, auditing, tax, and managerial decision-making. Graduates will gain an understanding of the accounting industry and will develop the interpersonal, decision-making, and analytical skills required to manage workplace problems and situations. The well-balanced curriculum will prepare graduates to be successful in today's accounting industry.

Graduates of this degree plan will achieve the following program and institutional outcomes:

• Interpret and apply generally accepted accounting principles (GAAPs) to analyze, record, and report financial information to assist users in the management decision-making process.
• Integrate financial information and technology to interpret financial and non-financial information to aid decision-makers within an organization.
• Evaluate ethical and unethical decisions in accordance with the laws and regulations applicable to accounting practices.
• Apply current management and business theories to effectively assist in business operations.
• Utilize appropriate current technology and resources to locate and evaluate information needed to accomplish a goal, and then communicate findings in visual, written and/or oral formats.
• Transfer knowledge, skills and behaviors acquired through formal and informal learning and life experiences to new situations.
• Employ strategies for reflection on learning and practice in order to adjust learning processes for continual improvement.
• Follow established methods of inquiry and mathematical reasoning to form conclusions and make decisions.
