MCCG148 - Evaluation and Management Coding and Payor Methodologies

Semester Credit Hour(s): 3

This course provides continuing exploration of Evaluation and Management (E/M) coding and introduction to payor reimbursement methodologies, essential for accurate claims processing and revenue cycle management. Students will gain practical knowledge of CPT E/M coding guidelines, CMS documentation requirements, and medical necessity concepts, as well as a thorough understanding of private and public payor methodologies, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurers. Aligned with AAPC's CPB certification requirements, this course prepares students to code and bill confidently in outpatient and physician office settings.
