Graduates of the Bachelor of Professional Studies in the Organizational Leadership degree program will be prepared to advance into higher leadership positions within a variety of professional fields.  Students will become well-versed in the areas of change management, project management, strategic planning, team building, creative problem-solving and ethical decision-making.  By the end of this degree program, students will have the knowledge, skills and capabilities needed to effectively lead within their respective fields.  The unique nature of this degree allows students to earn credits through successful demonstration of prior learning and transfer credits.

Graduates of this degree plan will achieve the following program and institutional outcomes:

• Examine effective organizational leadership skills and change management strategies to enhance business performance.
• Apply analytical and critical thinking skills in the functional areas of marketing, operations and management.
• Evaluate ethical and legal decision-making prospects in today's global economy.
• Analyze operational processes and strategic initiatives for efficacy.
• Utilize appropriate current technology and resources to locate and evaluate information needed to accomplish a goal, and then communicate findings in visual, written and/or oral formats.
• Transfer knowledge, skills and behaviors acquired through formal and informal learning and life experiences to new situations.
• Employ strategies for reflection on learning and practice in order to adjust learning processes for continual improvement.
• Follow established methods of inquiry and mathematical reasoning to form conclusions and make decisions.
• Participate in social, academic, and professional communities for individual growth and to function as a citizen of a multicultural world.

*Students enrolled in the degree in the State of Virginia can apply no more than 74 credits through prior learning assessment and transfer credit.
