Hospitality management is a diverse, exciting, and evolving global industry. Our Hospitality Management (Restaurant and Hotel Management) degree offers foundational knowledge and relevant skills to prepare students for leadership and managerial roles or further educational opportunities in the hospitality and management fields. Students will develop skills appropriate to settings such as lodging, the food and beverage industry, events planning, travel and tourism, and gaming, entertainment, and sports venues. Students will be prepared to fulfill the key roles and responsibilities of hospitality professionals by developing important workplace skills in areas such as teamwork, communication, and cultural awareness that can be transferred into their future careers.

Graduates of this degree plan will achieve the following program and institutional outcomes:

• Apply soft skills to support a quality service experience for customers or guests in the hospitality industry.
• Identify the most common technical applications and skills used in the hospitality industry.
• Explain fundamental leadership, service, and business principles necessary in the diverse and global hospitality and tourism industry.

• Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills with internal and external customers using appropriate channels across departments.
• Utilize current technology and resources to identify a research need, locate and evaluate necessary and available information, and then use it appropriately to communicate findings in visual, written, or oral formats.
