Bryant & Stratton College Launches Practical Nursing Program at Solon Campus

Today, Bryant and Stratton College announced the launch of its Practical Nursing Program at the Solon, Ohio, campus starting in January 2023. During the evening-only classes, nursing students will learn current industry skills in the state-of-art simulation lab before they start their direct client care clinicals that are coordinated and supervised by the college’s nursing faculty. Community clinicals are offered in extended care facilities, rehabilitation centers, acute care hospitals and public schools. The practical nursing program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).

The Practical Nursing program prepares students for the National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX-PN). In as little as 12 months, Bryant & Stratton College’s Practical Nursing Diploma graduates will be eligible to take the NCLEX-PN exam provided they meet the requirements of the state board of nursing. Students who complete this program could also continue their education with the Nursing associate degree, as they are eligible to transfer credits from the Practical Nursing diploma to the Nursing degree program at Bryant & Stratton College upon passing the NCLEX-PN.

The new program joins a growing list of healthcare offerings in the Ohio Market that include Bachelor of Nursing Generalist, and associates degrees in Nursing, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Physical Therapist Assistant, Medical Assisting, Health Services Administration, Medical Billing and Coding and Medical Services Management.

Leading the program will be Dr. Kim Patton Schroeder DNP, MSN/Ed, BSN, RN, who also serves as the program director for the bachelor’s degree in Nursing Generalist and Practical Nursing programs at the Parma, Ohio campus. “This program is another example of Bryant & Stratton’s commitment to providing high-quality education to students to begin or advance their career in nursing. Nurses continue to be in high demand locally and nationally; graduates of the program will be ready to join the healthcare workforce to meet this need,” Schroeder said.
