Home / News / Virginia Launch Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting June 15, 2011 Virginia Launch Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting By B&SC News Team New degree program will prepare graduates for careers in business, industry, government and non-profit organizations BUFFALO, NY (June 15, 2011) – Bryant & Stratton College today announced the launch of its new Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting through the Virginia Beach, Richmond and Online Education locations. The BBA in Accounting is Bryant & Stratton College’s fifth bachelor’s degree program. The new degree program not only places a strong emphasis on accounting concepts, but students will also benefit from a solid business foundation through complementary courses in management, finance, technology, marketing and business law, as well as gain critical business thinking skills through operations management and strategic planning courses. Graduates will be prepared for positions such as staff, tax or management accountant; financial, revenue or budget analyst; financial manager, internal auditor or business manager. The program is designed to train students to become contributors in the workplace. Graduates will be prepared to: Recognize the commonalities between financial theory and tax law and the economic and social policy issues of taxation. Record and report financial information using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Solve technology challenges, maintain systems, analyze data and communicate results using business related computer applications. Judge appropriate ethical behaviors that follow the laws and regulations applicable to accounting practice. Integrate theory, knowledge and technology to interpret financial and non-financial information to aid decision makers within an organization. Currently the BBA-Accounting program is not available online to students in Arkansas, New York or Ohio. Also, prospective students should note that the program is not intended to provide preparation for the Certified Public Accountant exam.
