With entire cities and states forced to quarantine at home, our everyday lives have been upturned in order to limit the spread of this disease and ensure the health and safety of those who may be at risk. To ensure the safety of our faculty and students, Bryant & Stratton College introduced the Remote Classroom Experience. This learning environment provides students with a robust and uninterrupted classroom experience until it is deemed safe to return to the campuses The remote classroom is designed to maintain all the hallmarks enjoyed by students who attend classes on-campus. Students still report to their classes at their scheduled times, instructors continue to provide live, real-time lectures, and students are able to maintain contact with everyone via video conferencing, email, chat and more. We understand that there will be challenges as students adjust to this new normal. Below are some additional tips and information that should help you adjust to the Remote Classroom Experience: More Traditional Than You Think As noted, classes still meet at set times, so if you have a 10:00 a.m. Research & Writing class, you’ll need to make sure you’re logged in and ready to go at 10:00 a.m. Classes will continue to utilize physical textbooks and our student services, financial aid and career services are still just a call or email away. Don’t hesitate to contact us and take advantage of the support services your campus provides. Dress For Success Just because you’re working from home doesn’t mean you shouldn’t dress the part. Choose an outfit that gives you confidence and get ready for classes just like you would when you were going to the campus. Not only will this help you feel more prepared and confident as you’re attending class, it will give you a sense of normalcy as you keep the routine you usually have when heading to campus. Resources at Your Fingertips Thanks to a combination of video conferencing, chat, email and even the phone, your instructors and support team are still well within reach should you need them. Not to mention your ability to utilize tools such as the virtual library and 24/7 tutoring through Smart Thinking. Skype it Up One of the biggest things you may feel you’re missing out on is the camaraderie and community of being on-campus. You can capture some of that by coordinating Skype, Zoom, Facetime or Houseparty calls with your classmates or friends on-campus. Get together virtually with your friends to catch up, chat about what shows you’re binging and stay up to date On class assignments. The most important thing to remember is that we’re here for you. Between our admissions department, student services, career services or financial aid, our team is available to lend support to you every day.
