MCCG241 - Evaluation and Management Services

Semester Credit Hour(s): 3

This course offers an in-depth examination of Evaluation and Management (E/M) coding, with a focus on accurately selecting and applying CPT E/M codes in accordance with official coding guidelines and payer requirements. Students will learn to analyze clinical documentation to determine the appropriate E/M service levels using the components of Medical Decision Making (MDM) and time-based coding, in accordance with current CPT updates and CMS guidelines. The course prepares students to apply these concepts and supports the knowledge requirements for the AAPC's Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification.
