PLEG155 - Wills, Trusts and Estates

Semester Credit Hour(s): 3

This course is designed to provide students with an overview of estate planning with particular emphasis on the law of wills, trusts and probate.  Through in-depth study of this material, students will learn the law of estate planning and will gain an understanding of the responsibilities of the paralegal in this area of law.  Students will gain the skills needed to draft estate planning documents.  Students will evaluate the many ethical issues that arise in this practice area and learn strategies to avoid the appearance of impropriety and unauthorized practice of law when dealing with the day-to-day operations of a legal practice setting.
