PTAP237 - Professional Practice and Management in Physical Therapy

Semester Credit Hour(s): 2

This course explores the essential skills for the effective administration and management of a physical therapy practice. Topics include time management, quality assurance, legal and ethical considerations, and proper documentation, including the use of electronic health records and appropriate reimbursement procedures. Students will also examine the importance of professionalism in physical therapy, including effective communication, educational responsibilities, and liability considerations. Additional focus will be placed on understanding credentialing requirements, the role of credentialing agencies, and the use of professional literature and research to support ongoing professional development and maintain current, evidence-based practice.
