The Health Services Administration Assistant diploma program will provide students with the knowledge and skills to navigate health systems, comply with processes, and produce documentation associated with entry-level positions as a Medical Office Specialist, Medical Secretary, Patient Coordinator, Unit Support Representative, or Ward Clerk. Health Services Administration Assistants work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, nonprofit organizations, government and private businesses. Graduates of this program may apply the courses and credits toward the Health Services Administration AAS degree plan.

Graduates of this diploma plan will achieve the following program and institutional outcomes:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of legal and ethical issues that impact the healthcare industry.
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate with all stakeholders in a proficient and professional manner. 
  • Demonstrate the correct use of medical terminology used in the healthcare industry.
