Students in the Medical Billing and Coding associate degree program develop the knowledge, skills, and abilities required of entry-level coders and billers in outpatient settings. Throughout this program, students will know how to apply ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Level II codes and accurately prepare insurance claims as part of the revenue cycle. Students completing the associate degree program will be prepared for the Certified Professional Coder (CPC) exam given by AAPC (American Academy of Professional Coders). Successful completion of coding practice within the program meets the AAPC requirements to remove the apprentice status.
